Japanese Buddhist jewelry is becoming more popular and the vintage pieces are beautiful examples of Mala beads.
Description Beautiful string of vintage Buddhist mala prayer beads or shozoiki jyu-zu as they are called in Japanese. Prayer beads were first introduced into Japan along with Buddhism during the 6th century. The 1848 woodblock print image included below depicts the famous kabuki actor Okawa Hashizo as the priest Saigyo standing before Mt. Fuji with a string of prayer beads in his left hand. Japanese prayer beads are used to count devotions and are always carried by Buddhist priests and frequently by lay Buddhists at weddings, funerals and other ceremonial occasions. Japanese tea houses may also sometimes have a string of prayer beads hanging from the wall as a sign of reverence. Many Japanese prayer beads are sanctified by being blessed by a priest over a cloud of incense. About the Listed Item This antique strand of Buddhist prayer beads includes 35 beads total; including one large “guru” bead with an attached tassel. The beads are made of resin and the entire piece is in good condition though there are a few beads with marks and scratches and all of the beads wear a darkened patina of age. Me demonstrating how I use the Triple Goddess Prayer Beads I made. I found most of the prayers I use here sacredstrands.webs.com I use 13 beads in each section for the 13 full moons in one year. Opening Prayer: “Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Whose garment is the shining Heavens. You are the white Moon among the stars and the beauty of the green Earth. You are the Oneness of all things and the completion of the Spirit. You are the Mystery that if that which we seek we find not within, we will never find it without. For you have been here since the beginning and you are that which is attained at the end of desire. Great Goddess, Lady of Life, Three that are One, You are everything; the Earth under my feet, the Air which I breath, the Water which purifys me and the Fire that illuminates my path. Great Goddess, I look within and I see your Light shining.” Maiden-”Maiden of freedom, You are the eternal Virgin, the Holy Bride of Nature and the revealing Light within the Shadows. Through you all that is good comes to birth.” Mother-”Mother of Compassion, forever fertile, Lady of the forge. You are the creating force of Love and the strength which nourishes all that lives. Through you the cause of Life is served.” Crone-”Crone of Wisdom, Ancient One, Keeper of the Cauldron. You stand at the gates between the worlds and carry the shining sickle of Death. Without you nothing can be transformed.” Closing Prayer: “Oh Holy and Blessed Lady, Perpetual Comfort of humankind and all …

Hindu art, unlike Buddhist art, shows the human figure curved, voluptuous and filled with potential motion. Parvati below is shaped and dressed (only in jewelry to emphasize her sexuality and a crown) like the Yakshi. Ganesha, the elephant-headed god in the center, is corpulent, the result of “good living.” Vishnu on the right is portrayed with a fit, but soft body, and with four arms to show his many powers. The Indian artist had an entirely different starting point. He considered that the perfect human animal was an inadequate symbol for the beauty of the divine nature which comprehended all human qualities and transcended them all. It was only by meditating on the Ultimate Perfection that the artist’s mind could perceive some glimmer of the beauty of the Godhead. Mere bodily strength and mundane perfections of form are never glorified in Indian art. Indian art is essentially idealistic, mystic, symbolic, and transcendental. The artist is both priest and poet. In this respect Indian art is closely allied to the Gothic art of Europe — indeed, Gothic art is only the Eastern consciousness manifesting itself in a Western environment. But while the Christian art of the Middle Ages is always emotional, rendering literally the pain of the mortification of the flesh, the bodily sufferings of the Man of Sorrows, Indian art appeals more to the …

I’ve been practicing yoga for almost 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I’m looking to get certified so I can use my skill to teach yoga to others. I’m just wondering how one goes about getting certified in NJ. I would probably just teach at a local YMCA or something like that, not looking to open my own studio. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Visita ao Templo Wat Phra Keoh, em Bangkok. Lindo demais! Primeiro video. Wat Phra Kaew (“Temple of the Holy Jewel Image”), also spelled Wat Phra Kaeo and commonly known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is located on the ground of the Royal Palace in Bangkok. It is the most revered Buddhist shrine in Thailand. Central to the temple is the Emerald Buddha, a dark green statue standing about 2 feet tall. No one is allowed near the statue except the Thai king, who conducts rituals at the temple throughout the year. History According to popular belief, the Emerald Buddha is ancient and came from Sri Lanka. Art historians, however, generally believe that it was crafted in 14th-century Thailand. The much-revered Buddha image has traveled …
Apartment is the ninth & final episode or “bead” from the j-horror anthology Prayer Beads. Each episode from Prayer Beads is about 30 minutes long so I split this episode, “Apartment,” into 10 minute sections. Some of the episodes really sucked, some where alright, and some where actually good. Now this one I uploaded because…. you really need to just watch it for yourself.
